I am free, folks!
I’m free of letting what other people think of me dictate how I feel about myself, and boy is it magical!!! Don’t get me wrong, I’d much prefer it if everyone loved me, but knowing that that’s an impossible feat, I’ve decided from here on out to prioritize loving the person I see in the mirror. One of the reasons getting to this place is so important (and so damn difficult) is because we are pre-programmed to care about what others think and to be accepted by them. Just look at our history- millions of years ago if one was ostracized from their tribe, it likely meant certain death, as we needed each other to survive; back then we also had to be on high alert and in fight or flight mode constantly in order to fend off any potential predators. Since the Stone Age, humankind has advanced a great deal in terms of medical breakthroughs and technology, however our brains are still hardwired for survival above all else. But what if I told you that breaking through that barrier is actually essential to your very survival in the modern world and the key to finding your joy? It certainly was for me.
Let me explain- I’m well aware that talking about energies, frequencies, higher self, the collective consciousness, other dimensions, and so forth sounds crazy to the general population. Still, this doesn’t bother me- you know why? Because I’m happy. My goal in this life is to be happy and to be at peace- that’s it. Sure, I want to be in service to others and have great adventures and hopefully have a positive impact on as many people as possible, but never at the expense of my peace or my happiness. I believe what I believe for the sole reason that that mindset brings me a sense of peace and utter joy.
I don’t need scientific evidence to give me permission to feel good. Please understand that I’m not saying you shouldn’t look into things that are important to you- I’m saying that if a belief system makes you happy and it hurts neither you nor anyone else, then please give yourself permission to enjoy it! That said, if some guru or group wants all your money and/or tries to separate you from your loved ones, that certainly is harmful to you and others, and that is not what I’m talking about!
I’m talking about allowing yourself to explore and to see what belief systems help you make sense of the chaos in your mind and in the world. Maybe the answers are in certain meditations, thought leaders, books, etc. Maybe they’re already inside of you, just waiting to be discovered and those other modalities will help you tap into them.
All I ask is that if you find yourself starting to feel a bit better about yourself, the world, and life in general, please don’t let anyone else talk you out of it. Misery does indeed love company and sadly, you rising above your limitations will feel like a threat to those who are not ready or willing to rise with you. However, over time, you will begin to attract those who are growing right along with you and eventually feeling alone will be a thing of the past; and you’ll be amazed there was ever a time you let other peoples’ opinions get in the way of this magical state of being!
So, go ahead and drink the kool-aid, because here’s the thing, when you’re the one making it there’s nothing to be afraid of. Maybe people will call you crazy, but over time, your energy may be so contagious that they just might ask you for the recipe:)
